Your idle screen,
dreaming in public.

Community-made AI videos as your screensaver.
Watch for one flat price, or roll the dice and make your own — with ambient sound and your name on every clip.

An actual community clip, exactly as it plays when your Mac goes idle.

The concept

A screensaver with
a community inside.

Every clip on your screen was dreamed up by another SlopSaver user — vetted, titled, and credited. When one ends, the next one fades in. Your desktop becomes a quiet little film festival that never repeats itself.

How it works

Install it. Forget it.
Love it.

1

Install

One app, one click — SlopSaver registers itself as your screensaver and can enable itself. No digging through System Settings.

2

Watch

A curated feed of the community's best clips plays whenever your Mac idles. New videos appear automatically — favorite the ones you love, skip the ones you don't.

3

Create

Roll the dice, pick a style card, describe a scene. No prompt engineering — buttons do the work. Preview it, title it, and your clip joins the feed with your handle on it.

Creation

Twelve styles.
Zero prompts.

Every clip starts from a style you can see. Tap a card, maybe nudge the motion or the vibe — or hit the dice and let Surprise me do everything. That's the whole learning curve.

This is the actual Create screen vocabulary — the same scenes, styles, motions, and vibes the app ships with. Go ahead, roll the dice.

Sound

It sounds like somewhere.

Every clip gets an ambient soundscape — matched to its scene automatically, or picked by hand. Preview them right here (and in the app):

How to install

Three steps. No spelunking.

1

Download & drag

Open the DMG and drag SlopSaver into your Applications folder. Signed and notarized by Apple — the Gatekeeper check is normal, click Open.

2

Open it once

Launch SlopSaver from Applications. It registers itself as a screensaver automatically — a modern app extension, the same architecture as Apple's built-in savers.

3

Click "Enable as Screensaver"

One button in the SlopSaver window sets it as your screensaver on every display. macOS's own path (Wallpaper → Screen Saver modal → scroll to the bottom) stays untouched.

No System Settings maze, no Full Disk Access prompt, nothing left behind. Distributed directly — notarized DMG, no Mac App Store middleman.

Pricing

Honest pricing.
Imagine that.

Watching costs five dollars, once. Not per month, not per year — once. Creating is a small subscription that mostly pays for the GPUs.

FAQ

Fair questions.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. SlopSaver installs as a modern screensaver extension — the same architecture Apple's own screensavers use — and stays out of your way the rest of the time.

Where do the videos come from?

Every clip is generated by a SlopSaver community member using the built-in creation tools — no stock footage, no scraping. Clips are reviewed before they join the feed, so the catalog stays good as it grows.

Is the content moderated?

Yes, twice. Prompts are screened before anything is generated — this is an all-ages community — and finished clips are reviewed before they can appear on anyone's screen. A report button is always one click away.

Who sees what I create?

Everyone — that's the point. Your clips play on other users' screens with your handle in the corner. But nothing is ever published automatically: you preview every clip, give it a title, and explicitly add it to the community first.

Why is watching a one-time purchase?

Because a screensaver isn't a service you rent — it's a thing you own. The $4.99 covers the app and funds catalog hosting. Only the Create tier is a subscription, because generating video has a real per-clip cost.
